Our website address is: https://thebaitlab.com. The Bite Blueprint, Powered by The Bait Lab and The Bait lab Governing Law is the State of Florida.

1. Overview
This Privacy Policy describes how Jodie Brunetti DBA The Bait Lab (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects personal information through our two websites: The Bait Lab (thebaitlab.com) and The Bite Blueprint (thebiteblueprint.com).
We will never sell or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes. This policy explains what we collect and how it is used to provide our services.
 
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Account Registration (thebaitlab.com)
When you create a WordPress account on thebaitlab.com (required for purchasing access to The Bite Blueprint and for The Bait Lab store), we collect:
•  Name and email address
•  Username and encrypted password
•  Billing address and payment information (processed by WooCommerce and your payment processor)
•  Membership level and purchase history (managed by Paid Memberships Pro)
We do not store credit card numbers. Payment processing is handled by WooCommerce-integrated payment processors subject to their own privacy policies.
2.2 Bite Blueprint Report Submissions (thebiteblueprint.com)
When you submit the tournament intake form on thebiteblueprint.com, we collect and store the following in our database:
•  Tournament details you enter: lake name, tournament dates, rules, start time, launch and weigh-in locations, target species, and all other form fields
•  Your name and email address
•  A unique execution ID generated by your browser for tracking your report
•  Timestamp of form submission and your acknowledgment of our disclaimer and delivery terms
•  Generated Report content
•  Technical metadata: token usage, estimated cost per report, generation timestamps
2.3 Cookies and Browser Data (thebaitlab.com)
thebaitlab.com uses cookies for the following purposes:
•  Comment opt-in cookies: If you leave a comment, you may opt in to saving your name, email, and website for one year for convenience.
•  Login cookies: Set when you log in. Persist for two days by default, or two weeks if you select “Remember Me.” Removed when you log out.
•  Session cookies: A temporary cookie is set when you visit the login page to determine if your browser accepts cookies. It contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
•  Screen display cookies: Set at login, last one year.
thebiteblueprint.com does not currently set first-party cookies beyond those required for basic session function.
2.4 Images and Media
If you upload images to thebaitlab.com or share images on our social media platforms, please be aware that images may contain embedded location data (EXIF GPS data). Visitors can download and extract this data. We recommend removing location data from images before uploading or sharing to protect your privacy.
2.5 Usage Data
We may collect standard server log data including IP addresses, browser type, pages visited, and referring URLs. This data is used for security monitoring and service improvement and is not linked to your personal identity for marketing purposes.
 
3. How We Use Your Information
•  To create and manage your account on thebaitlab.com
•  To process purchases through WooCommerce and manage your membership level through PMPro
•  To generate and deliver your Bite Blueprint tournament Reports
•  To send your Report by email via Brevo (our email delivery service)
•  To save a copy of your Report PDF to our administrative folder for resend purposes
•  To maintain a BCC copy of every Report delivery at info@thebaitlab.com for administrative and customer service purposes
•  To record your acceptance of our disclaimer and delivery terms at the time of submission
•  To respond to customer service inquiries, refund requests, and resend requests
•  To monitor service performance, diagnose technical issues, and improve the service
 
4. Third-Party Services We Use
We share certain data with the following third-party services in order to operate our business. Each is subject to its own privacy policy.
4.1 Website
Our store and account system on thebaitlab.com is built on WordPress with WooCommerce. Purchase data, account data, and membership data are stored in our WordPress database. Paid Memberships Pro manages access levels and membership records.
4.2 Database
Report submission data and generated Report content are stored in a cloud database service. Data is stored in a secured database accessible only to our authorized systems. Supabase is subject to its own privacy and data protection policies.
4.3 Brevo (Email Delivery)
We use Brevo (formerly Sendinblue) to deliver your Report by email. Your name and email address are passed to Brevo for the purpose of sending your Report. Brevo does not receive or store your Report content beyond what is necessary for email delivery.
4.4 Report Retention
A PDF copy of every generated Report is automatically saved to a private administrative folder. This copy is used exclusively for customer service purposes, such as resending a Report if the original email was not received. This folder is not shared publicly and is accessible only to The Bait Lab administration.
4.5 Anthropic API
Tournament details you enter are sent to Anthropic for the purpose of generating your Report. Anthropic is subject to its own privacy and data use policies. We do not send personally identifying information beyond what is necessary to generate your Report.
4.6 Workflow Automation
Our Report generation pipeline runs on a self-hosted workflow automation platform. Data passes through it as part of the generation process and is not stored there beyond what is necessary to complete the workflow.
4.7 api2pdf
Report PDFs are rendered using api2pdf, a PDF generation service. Report HTML content is sent to api2pdf for rendering. api2pdf does not store Report content beyond what is necessary for PDF generation.
 
5. Your Rights Over Your Data
You have the following rights regarding your personal information:
•  Access: You can view and edit your personal information in your account profile on thebaitlab.com at any time.
•  Deletion: You can request deletion of your personal data by contacting us at info@thebaitlab.com. Note that we are required to retain certain data related to purchases for administrative, legal, and security purposes.
•  Correction: You can update your account information at any time through your profile on thebaitlab.com. Note that usernames cannot be changed.
•  Opt-out of marketing: We do not send marketing emails at this time. If this changes, we will provide a clear opt-out mechanism.

6. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. We retain Report submission records and generated Report content for as long as reasonably necessary to support customer service requests, including Report resends.
Purchase records are retained as required for tax, accounting, and legal compliance under applicable Florida and federal law.
You may request deletion of your data at any time subject to our legal retention obligations (see Section 5).
 
7. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include:
•  Database access restricted to authorized service role credentials — never exposed to the public or frontend
•  Reports folder restricted to administrative access only
•  Website account passwords stored in encrypted form
•  HTTPS enforced on both thebaitlab.com and thebiteblueprint.com
No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we use commercially reasonable measures to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
 
8. Children’s Privacy
Our services are not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us at info@thebaitlab.com and we will delete it promptly.
 
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the Effective Date at the top of this document. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
